Here at Loveblock, we always make wine with lower levels of added sulphur, and TEE takes this further by exploring winemaking without added sulphur, the traditional wine preservative. Oenological tannins are commonly used in winemaking, and we found that tannin extracted from green tea leaves (Camellia sinensis) acts as a natural antioxidant, helping protect the wine against oxidation and spoilage.
The palate is elegant, with juicy mandarin, earthy cumin, sweet basil and ripe yellow star fruit (carambola). Layered and textured, the wine is clean and fresh, with ripe pineapple, a gentle tannin note and a savoury layer of umami.
Organic, vegan friendly and from a single vineyard.
Grown with love, made with care.
Pairs well with goat’s cheese, oysters, seafood, pasta and chicken.

The grapes for this wine came from a small parcel of vines on our certified-organic Woolshed vineyard on the Loveblock Farm, in the Lower Dashwood sub-region of Marlborough’s Awatere Valley. The soils are predominantly aged alluvial loams, with some silt loam over stone. Depending on vigour, the vines are pruned to two or three canes and trained in a vertical shoot position. Harvest took place in March, with no sulphur added in the vineyard. Regenerative practices, including cover crops, manure and horn preparations, are used to promote balanced, fertile soils, biodiversity and healthy grape growth.
